Case Study: The infamous

Hi-Matic Panorama

Made for the street:

Taking the leightweight Minolta Hi-Matic out to a trip to Berlin – for a thorough a testdrive….

The funny thing with the Hi-Matic is, it is ideal for street photography, it is stylishly retro, very small so nobody feels threatened – in fact, people have a tendency to smile when they notice it.

And the camera is quiet. The shutter is barely noticable when taking a picture and since there is no motor drive, you can shoot candid if you have to.

Ilford HP-5 developed in Agfa Rodinal. It shows crude corn, later we switched to D76 for developing. The prints we made using caffenol however turned out pretty nice.
